UDS offers in-house urban design training tailored to your needs. The training is adapted to your local context; engaging and enjoyable; and focused on hands-on learning. The UDS team has an unmatched depth of experience in design training, practice, policy and guidance.

The training is based on topics today's professionals need to know. These include:

Introduction to urban design
An introductory session on the principles of good design, essential for anyone involved in making decisions and working in the built environment.

Design assessment
This session introduces UDS's 10-step, structured method of design appraisal that can be used by people with no design training, as well as by experts. The method can be used to assess planning proposals for individual buildings or larger developments, and for planning applications or masterplans.

Masterplanning
This session in grounded in the masterplanning process, and the urban design tools and approaches available to help deliver successful places. The course is for urban designers, architects, planners and other professionals who work in the design process.

Design and access statements
This session focuses on how to write and use design and access statements successfully. The course is essential for planners, architects and urban designers who produce design and access statements or assess them.
